Prof. Nikolina Basic-Jukic, MD PhD, is the nephrology team leader of the transplant center in Clinical hospital Zagreb which is the largest renal transplant unit in Croatia. She graduated from School of medicine, University of Zagreb in 1994 and defended her BS in experimental pharmacology in 1997 and PhD in medical genetics in 1998.
Her research focuses on renal transplant complications, renal nutrition, hemodialysis and plasma exchange. She has authored three books and more than 200 scientific papers published in the leading nephrology and transplant journals, with more than 1900 citations.
Prof. Basic-Jukic received 9 domestic and international awards for scientific research. She is associate editor of BANTAO Journal, member of the editorial board of Acta Medica Croatica and is also referee for the leading nephrology and transplant journals.
